I had the pleasure of meeting Ike Turner at a restruant in down town San Diego. He was very responsive,vibrant, and seem to love life. I hope only the best for his surviving family and may they continue to have his legacy live on.....

Just wanted to convey my deepest sympathy to Mr. Turner's family at this sad time. I saw Ike and Tina in concert several times back in the 60's and 70's and NEVER watched a more powerful, entertaining show. I have always said they were the most awesome concerts I had ever had the pleasure of watching. Whatever happened in the past should remain there as far as the bad press. Ike Turner should be remembered for his contribution to R & R and Rhythm and Blues music. That is what is important. Ike brought his raw, exciting music to this white boy and I loved it. May he find everlasting peace with the Creator.

I grew up listening to Ike. I'm 45. I'm so glad God delivered him from his problems years ago. May he rest in the arms of our Lord and Savior. May his music live on through you, his Family. May God bring you comfort in your time of sorrow. God bless you.

so sorry to hear about ike's passing. he was a true original and i had the pleasure of playing with him on many occasions.i found him to be very genuine, generous and one of the most fun people i ever worked with. it was truly one of the highlights for me. i will never forget the gigs in new york and the european tour. even though i was just a backup musician he treated us all with great respect and carried himself with dignity and a great sense of humor. to even appear onstage with such a musical giant was an honor and a privilege. my deepest condolences to his family. tom rose

Serene and beautiful and very wise,
Most erudite in curious Grecian lore,
You lay and read your learned books, and bore
A weight of unshed tears and silent sighs.
The song within your heart could never rise
Until love bade it spread its wings and soar.
Nor could you look on Beauty's face before
A poet's burning mouth had touched your eyes.
Love is made out of ecstasy and wonder;
Love is a poignant and accustomed pain.
It is a burst of Heaven-shaking thunder;
It is a linnet's fluting after rain.
Love's voice is through your song;
above and under
And in each note to echo and remain
A red rose is His Sacred Heart,
a white rose is His face,
And His breath has turned the barren
world to a rich and flowery place.
He is the Rose of Sharon,
His gardener am I,
And I shall drink His fragrace
in Heaven when I die.
May God continue to guide the family.And We know Ike will be missed and his life was such a testimony.But this is a time to rejoice and thank God the 76 years we had Ike for.May God Bless You And Keep You.
