In my prayers |
December 13, 2007 |
Out of respect to Ike’s family, if you don’t have anything nice to say, please refrain from leaving a message. Some of you may mean well but think before putting it in print. His friends and family are grieving their loss.
And Jesus said “let he who is without sin, cast the first stone”.
My prayers are with those left behind who mourn the loss of their father, friend, lover, talented musician…rest in peace Ike, I love you!
From a fan and old friend…
Lolo

Ike Turner was a great musician. He influenced lots of people. Hopefully those who loved him may find the strength to carry on without him.

"Prancin" On In |
December 13, 2007 |
Fifty two years ago I stood in the Front Row of The Club Imperial in St L and let the genius of this music take me--Not to long ago I was able to speak with Ike and thank him---and---offer to help him bring it all back---it did not work for him or me---none the less the genius and the ONLY FATHER OF ROCK AND ROLL lives on in my heart---I will forever treasure the e-mail I received from Ike not long ago--
One more time Ike!!! Hit Prancin on the way in!!!!
We will always miss you and your misunderstood life!!!

Ike will be there to show them how its done!
I enjoyed the stories, especially the one about having to fire one of his lead guitarists named Jimmy ............. Hendrix (yeah, that Jimi!) for taking too long to get his footpetals together for his solo
There probally tuning up now as I type!
In these times of mourning, you gotta stay focused on the good times
My heart goes out to Ike's family and friends

I give my condolences to all your family, and friends! R.I.P Ike your music will never get old or die, it will be passed from one fan to another for generations to come!

When I was 12 years old back in the mid 1980's, I found a 78 of Ike Turner's in an Antique store and bought it. I fell in love with his music and the music of the 1950's. IT is one of my great passions in life to find, listen and preserve and to teach the importance of this early Rock n Roll music and R&B music. It was Ike Turner's "She made my blood run cold" 78 that sparked this passion. I loved his music and his contibution the the music industry. He will be missed !!! I hope all who are out there who read this give Ike the respect and GRACE he deserves!!!! Rest in Peace with the Lord Jesus Ike. God please Bless his family and Friends at this time.
Regards from Kansas City
