I was extremely saddened to learn of Ike's death. I met him at one of Freddie Mercury's parties back in the 1970s and he was a very friendly guy.

RIP lizard boy |

I disagreed with all that stuff about lizards ruling the world but he was an outstanding goalkeeper and his memory will live on every time a David Icke and Tina Turner tune is played. God rest his weird soul.

IKE TURNER will greatly be missed not only by his immediate family but all of us. I live in Nigeria and I heard of his death on CNN. Turner has fans here and will surely miss this great architect of Rock n' Roll genre of music. His name is like a Nigeria name IKECHUKWU [God of peace], so may the 'God of peace' rest him in peace. To the family, I say take heart and believe you will see your loved one at the down of the NEXT LIFE.

goodbye |
December 14, 2007 |
I am utterly devastated. The whole of our country, all of us, will be in a state of shock and mourning. Ike was a wonderful, warm and compassionate person who people, not just in Britain, but throughout the world, loved and will mourn as a friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, in particular with his two guitars, and with all of the families bereaved in this quite appalling tragedy.
I feel like everyone else in this country today - utterly devastated. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ike's family - in particular her two sons, two boys - our hearts go out to them. We are today a nation, in Britain, in a state of shock, in mourning, in grief that is so deeply painful for us.
He was a wonderful and warm human being. Though his own life was often sadly touched by tragedy, he touched the lives of so many others in Britain - throughout the world - with joy and with comfort. How many times shall we remember him, in how many different ways, with the sick, the dying, with children, with the needy, when, with just a look or a gesture that spoke so much more than words, he would reveal to all of us the depth of his compassion and his humanity. How difficult things were for him from time to time, surely we can only guess at - but the people everywhere, not just here in Britain but everywhere, they kept faith with Ike turner, they liked him, they loved him, they regarded him as one of the people. He was the peoples prince and thats how he will stay, how he will remain in our hearts and in our memories forever.

Passing Of A Legend |
December 14, 2007 |
1967, Ike and Tina Turner Revue. It was the best concert that I have ever experienced. The management of the London Hammersmith Odeon had to call a halt to the show half way through because the building was shaking as a result of the crowd's enthusiastic dancing. I had lunch with Ike in Memphis many years later and was enthralled by his stories of the birth of Rock'n Roll, of which he was one of the main architects. He is a legend and his legacy and contribution to Rock'n Roll will live on forever. My sympathies and condolences to Audrey and the Turner family.

Thinking of you |
December 14, 2007 |
Can you ever be replaced..
Undeniably the most influential musical talent ever born.
Not only to black music but to many generations of creeds and colours.
Today is a very sad day for all music lovers.
