He may be gone but the music he made willn't be forgotten. Rest on Brother Ike

Peace be with you my elder. My mom and pop uses to rock listening to  you back in the day, and to watch them get their jam on even today brings a big grin to my face.

It was Ike and Tina that taught me to appreciate rock & roll, with thier many covers of rock song's through out the years.

 

My Mom and Dad fought to, like cats and dog's, people do, inside a persons four walls a lot of strangeness goes on.

 

you can not judge a person, by what goes on in a personal relationship. Nor can you take a movie made for entertainment as the truth.

 

The many nights, I'd sit in my basement comparing his interpetation of somebody else's song i.e. The Hunter..., I'd listen over and over again, and except for Tina's "Lets Stay Together" I can't listen to her music now.

 

but this isn't about Tina, it's about Ike, dude ...sir...( I have only cried over a celebrity death 2 or 3 times ) goodbye, nobody will ever understand, what it's like to be a black man in a white man's world,, how hard you have to try, and how hard you fall .

 

men aren't supposed to cry you know, but I'm so choked, I can't finish.

My deepest sympathy go with the Turner Family, may you find peace with your lost. Go with God Ike its time to rest.

When I first started getting into the Blues,one of the first things I bought was a Cobra Records compilation.On it was about 8 Ike Turner and the Kings Of Rhythm songs.Those songs changed alot for me.I had just started a Blues band and had more modern influences,UNTIL I heard Ike and The KOR.Ike Turner changed my whole perspective on Blues and music in general.Mr Turner, I want to say THANK YOU!!! May God Bless you and your family.My prayers go out for your friends and loved ones in their time of need.In my book as far as Musicians go you were ALWAYS THE MAN!!

Nothing on earth can prepare our hearts for that last goodbye.

To the family of Ike,

I just wanted to pay my condolences to you the family of Ike. Knowing that he is not with you anymore is the hardest thing to go through, but know that his memories will go on and his music will always be rembered.  I want to say that my prayers are with you. 

Ike has influencend many people over the years with his enormous talent, A great Guitar player and Songwriter..Rest In Peace Ike you will always be remembered and thank you for all the Great Music. My Thoughts and Prayers are with Ike's family.
