The Music World has lost another one, I'm Sure --Ike is in "Soul Heaven" Along with all the other "Greats"...Like Sammy Davis, Lucien, The Godfather of Soul---Mr. James Brown....2007 has not been kind to the Music World.... Actually "Time" has resulted in a lot of losses...However, We must remember that We were Blessed to have had the opportunity to have him for the time that we did. Blues, Rock and Roll, and Music in general will never be the same again....To the family, Our prayers are with you. May God Bless You during this troubled time.

A great Blues voice-I'm listening to BBC Radio 2, England.

Ike man, I never got you on my radio show and for that I am mad!  I really wish I would have been more persistent, because Ike you are a king!  Without you Rock N Roll would never be what it is today!  People have to recognize!  You lived in my backyard practically and never did I get to have you on my show to talk about your amazing contributions to music!  That's why I'm mad, cause you lived so close and hell I would have picked you up!  And to be honest I tried a few times to make it happen!  No matter what, any pain you may have had is now gone and you are at peace!  Long live the Rocket 88!

Just lisnin' to Mark Lamarrs' hour long tribute show to Ike on BBC Radio2 (UK),you will be able to as well on "listen again" feature online,had to dig out my old vinyl here in sunny Scotland and raise a dram to the man,you definitely educated me Ike,cheers

I have heard about this sad event. I remember him as a so good bluesman and I regret to have not seen him on stage. Condolence to all his family and friends. Keep him close to you by the music.

I had the privilege of meeting Ike when he played in a club that I owned in Clarksdale about 10 years ago whilst rehearsing for a festival. He was vibrant humourouse and polite, and an absolute musical genius who had a large part in forming the fabric and back drop to all of our lives.  My heartfelt condolences go out to his family.  May he rest in peace.

My sincere condolences to the family of the Founding Father of Rock n Roll.  If it wasn't for a genius like Ike, there would be no Pop Music, no Rhythm and Blues, no Rock n Roll, no Rock, no Hip-Hop, no Rap, nor other forms of music that we enjoy today.  No inspiration for the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, etc.  Just  "Big Band" music.  As a music lover, I thank God for Ike.

You were a legend and an icon in music history. May your family find peace and comfort in your time of sorrow.  Look to the hills for your help and your strength and I think it is admirable asking money to be donated to schools to keep the music going.  Be blessed.
