I wanted to express my deepest condolences to the family. It has to be difficult to grieve the man you loved in light of the spotlight his death has recieved. I understand that he was not the man portrayed in some media...at least that is not all he was. A man is the sum of his parts....his history, his accomplishments and his errors. In this time of loss of the man you knew I hope you are keeping close to each other...getting your time to grieve and finding comfort in knowing his soul has found peace as well as forgiveness.

Ike, It sure was a pleasure knowing you. You have touched so many lives. Thank you for being so kind to me.
Ike was a very talented musician. My nephew Jason and I had visited with him at his home. He said to me Aunt Sue, you want me to make up a song for you. I will never forget those words, because when he started playing , I just stood there amazed at the talent this man had. I could not believe it. He deserves all the respect in the world.
May you finally rest in peace,
Aunt Sue

Ike Turner, a pioneer in R&B, Rock, Funk. He had a long career with ups and downs like most musicians. I met him in the early seventies at his studio and have always looked up to him. I have also been blessed with meeting his daughter Twanna, whom I have been performing with on and off for many years. God bless you Ike, and thank you so much for what you have given us..

I emailed Ike a few years ago and he actually took the time to reply, heres what he said:
"HUGHES,,,
I DO GET MY MAIL AND SOMETIMES I REPLY.THANKS FOR THIS LETTER IT MEAN
A LOT TO ME AND I HOPE I MEET YOU SOMEDAY SOON.IM NOT THAT GOOD AT THIS BY
NOW YOU CAN TELL,,I,D RATHER BE PLAYING MUSIC.
THANKS AGAIN LOVE IKE TURNER
Sadly I never got a chance to see him live, but this email I am sure typifies what a great guy he was. I am only in my 20's and I think it goes to show what an impact he made through music over the years, I have 'here and now' playing all the time on my IPOD. RIP Ike.
