Funerals are for those left behind, not the dead. The dead don't know it's going on. If you believe in an after life, they're in a better-or worse-place, so not aware of what's going on. If you don't believe in an afterlife, they're dead, gone, that's it. Dumping on the memory of this man-who gave us rock and roll, moreso than Elvis and Sam Phillips-does only harm to those that are grieving, not the man that is gone. And if you want to pull the 'abuse of self and others' card, then few rock and rollers would come out clean. Elvis? Jerry Lee Lewis? Hell, even Muddy Waters... So, to all those detractors, excuse the reference, but take a pill, chill, and go elsewhere and let those that are mourning, mourn.

To the Turner Family I was truly sadened to hear about Ike . I will continue to pray for the whole family and will always love you all. and Ike will always be remembered as a good person with a good sense of humorwho loves his grandchildern and Kids and extended family.

Ike Turner will be missed.. I only wish that I could have told him while he was alive.

My utmost sympathy and respect to Mr. Turner's family and closest friends in this time.  I am a fellow guitar player and know that Mr. Turner's influence will continue to spread around the world never-ending.  I am a huge Jimi fan and know that right now, there is an ALL-Star jam session going on with The Wolf, Muddy, Ike, Jimi, Stevie Ray, and Janis, James Brown and all of the others.  I have made it my responsibility to bring this music to the next generation so they will know where it all came from.  God Bless The Blues, Soul, and Rock-n-Roll! Thank you for everything!

Musik. Was bedeutet Musik? Erinnerung? Gedanken an einen bestimmten Moment? Emotionen? Der erste Kuss? Der erste Streit? Spaß? Der Tod gehört zum Leben. Mein Vater starb im Februar im Alter von 81 Jahren. Niemand kann uns diesen Schmerz nehmen - Und niemand kann uns die Erinnerung nehmen - Und niemand kann uns die Musik nehmen und so werden wir nie vergessen....

Thanks to Ike turner and family for making it possible to my uncle to play with Ike turner n the 50"s. My uncle played/sing with Ike on couple of sessions with "The Ink Spots" in St. Louis Missouri. I'm enjoying the pictures that were left for me to enjoy for my grandchildren. Mr. Turner provide opportunities  for young artist for a way in music and future. Thanks again.
