I had the honor to see Ike Turner last year at The Night Of the Proms in Germany - for the first and last time and I am so grateful I was able to do so! He did a great performance and I am very sorry for this loss! Hearing about his passing made me very sad and I`d like to tell his family and close friends that he´ll stay in your hearts forever! He´ll always be with you! Thank you, Ike Turner!RIP!

I send full condolences to the family, friends, and peers of this man.If it wasn't for Ike,we would not have Rock And Roll."Rocket 88" is considered by many as the first Rock song. This was in 51' before Presley and Bill Haley & His Comets(no disrespect to them).Ike was a good Soul and Blues musician.People need to get over that movie(you know the title)because he's a good musician. The Blues And Soul world didn't forget him, regardless.
He was a good guitarist, bassist, lyricist, and pianist.Good performer,as well.I like him.Get over it.Let the man rest in peace.Artistic merit over personal life decisions, anyday. You listen to the music, not their life style.

Mr. Ike Turner was a great example to music. I pray that Tina Turner forgives her late exhusband for the things she said he did to her. I just hope they weren't as true as the movie let it appear. Ike and Tina were both great performers you can't help remembering one without mentioning the other. Rest in Peace Mr. Turner God chose you this time and all we can do is say good bye. RIP.

I adored this man as a friend for close to 40 years. I hadn't seen him in several years, but was hoping to catch up with him soon at one of his shows. He was one of the greatest...unique....there will never be another Ike. He should have been recognized for his contributions far more than he was demonized for any mistakes he made. To Ike Jr. (who I met once in Rochester, NY, when he played on a show with B. B. King), and the rest of his children, I can't express my sorrow at your loss, and the loss to the world. Rest in peace, my dear Ike.

Ike was the Man |

I had the chance to meet IKE when I played with BB Queen. I had always dug all of his 50s stuff with the horns and keys and funky guitar. Ike was the Man.

Hearing among the reports of his death that he was responsible for one of the recordings that contends as the first rock 'n roll song, started something.
In the couple weeks since then I've found out a lot I never knew about the man.I've taken great liking to Rocket 88 as if it were the top current hit, playing it over and over like a teenager (at age 59). As well, I've gotten suddenly interested in the whole origin of rock 'n roll and its broad heritage of which he is a part. So Ike Turner is exercising the ongoing longstanding influence, freshly, that he'll keep doing for a long time. I love the music.

"My condolences to the family of IKE TURNER"
I never got the opportunity to see and hear the late
IKE TURNER in person. I was hoping he would be
touring in the US this coming 2008. I was looking forward to attending one of his concerts, but I didn't get the opportunity due to the fact that he left us way to soon. He was a prolific genius on the guitar and no one will ever replace him. But you ;IKE TURNER JR. & BAND can be responsible for making sure that generations to come will know that it was one IKE TURNER and he was a genius in music who was the farther of ROCKING ROLL, BLUES, AND R&B. ROCKET 88 was a hit that will forever live on. You guys must continue what IKE TURNER started over 50 years ago. "Thank you IKE TURNER for sharing your talent and music with us. Your music & style will transcend through generations and forever live on"

Death of a loved one is never easy! But we must bravely go through it over and over again. I am a long time friend of Patrick Gammon and Gerhard Augustin. They loved Ike so much (no vaseline)! and his love for them was remarkable. Ike said hello to me over the phone while speaking with Gerhard! Ike said hello to me?!!!!! I will never forget that day in Gerhard's living room! Here here to the man that gave us rock n funk!
