Wild Bill

As the asst. stage mgr. at the Mississippi Valley Blues Fest in Davenport, Iowa I had the opportunity to meet Ike a couple of years ago.  What a class act.  Ike signed autographs and had pictures taken with fans until everyone was taken care of.  While an excellent musician, both guitar and keyboards, I feel his real legacy is as a bandleader.  Along with John Mayall he is at the top of my list.  Watching him guide the band was a show in and of itself.  I listen to his last two CD's all the time and they seem to get better with each listening.  I had the pleasure of standing on the stage while he played "Rocket '88".  This was one of the really great musical moments I have experienced.  Thanks, Ike.

May you rest in peace Mr. Ike Turner, you were an extrodinary musican. I can only say that we all have our own crosses to bear and no one truly knows what a person has done except him and God. "People" are not the judge and jury. There is always "two" sides to a story. Forgiveness is God's. If need be, we are able to make our peace, without any ones elses permission. He who not sinned cast the first stone! Enough said..............on that.

I am please to say that you Mr. Turner and  Ike &Tina Turner Revue have blessed us all with your awesome talents alone and equally together. You so deserved your "grammy" win, Congrat's! Long over due, but at last!

Another "great" has gone home, you will be dearly missed. My prayers to all the Turner family and especially to your children.

I just learned of the death of IKE. Very sad to hear. I grew up with him and Tina and their music. Tina is still one of my favorite performers of today. Sorry for the loss. My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this sad time.
