I just to say that my sympathy goes out to the Turner family. He's in a better place where sickness does not exist. R.I.P Ike!!! And to all that come on this site posting negative comments, you guys are sad... really. The man is dead, whatever he did in his lifetime can't be judged by you!!!! You have no right and no place to make judgement!!! People make mistakes in life, that just prove that we are human. No matter what the negative comments say, Ike Turner is one of the main reasons why music, especially black music still exist today!!! Many artist of today get their musical sense from him... I love his music and will forever more... again my condolense.... <3 R.I.P Ike Turner....

Out of respect to Ike’s family, if you don’t have anything nice to say, please refrain from leaving a message. Some of you may mean well but think before putting it in print. His friends and family are grieving their loss.
And Jesus said “let he who is without sin, cast the first stone”.
My prayers are with those left behind who mourn the loss of their father, friend, lover, talented musician…rest in peace Ike, I love you!
From a fan and old friend…
Lolo
Earl Thomas
My dad took me to see the movie Soul To Soul in the early 70s and when I saw Ike & Tina's segment, I turned to my dad and said, "Daddy, that's what I want to be when I grow up. I want to be a singer in a band." My dad bought me all of the Ike & Tina records we could find that year and I played them to the point that my mom would threaten me with, "If you don't do your chores, I'm going to throw out all of those Ike & Tina Turner records." It worked. I did the chores. The first time I met Ike Turner was at an Etta James concert in San Diego. He was standing in front of me and I remember admiring his suit (but I didn't know it was him). Etta invited the audience to sing along on a piece and I sang out like the rest of the crowd. The man in the cool suit turns around to me and says, "You have a voice, what is your name?" I said, "Earl Thomas" and he said shaking hands, "I'm Ike Turner, pleased to meet you!" I almost fainted. Here was my hero standing in front of me and I didn't even know it! Here, in this immaculately tailored camel hair suit is the man literally responsible for my becoming a singer. I finally got to tell him how much his music had influenced my own style when we met the second time at a Hollywood screening of the re-release of the movie Soul To Soul in 2004 on which I sang the closing track (talk about a full circle moment!). I'm so glad that I got the chance to tell him how much his music and artistry meant to me and we jammed a bit in his car. The next time we met I was opening for him at a show and I sang the song Working Together which he had written under the pseudonym Eki Renrut (Ike Turner spelled backwards) and he signed my old album of the same name. And then we hung out backstage at the Russian River Blues Festival (see photo) and shared a good. Priceless. What a great artist he was.
